Icky Icky...We've been sicky....

Wow...did the sickness hit us!  We've been sick for weeks on end now...Just one thing after another.  Whatever the germ factories (aka kids) bring home...I get and far worse.  The terrible cold with a deep cough that the kids had turned into pneumonia with me!  That REALLY knocked me for a loop.  So needless to say, I haven't been too creative lately.   But I do have a couple of layouts to share with you.

And then Laurie Ann released these two kits last week....I was so inspired!  It's the first page in so long that I actually didn't use a template!  I've become template-dependent, lol!
I'm feeling a bit creative today!  So I'm off to scrap!

Happy Leap Day!

Happy Leap Day! I've got two layouts to share with you today...both of which feature my beautiful kids.  These are some of my favorite photos...so I'm particularly fond of these new pages!

The first, I just love these colors!  It's the March Kit from Captivate 2012 by Captivated Visions.

And of course I owe Cheryl from Fiddle Dee Dee Designs credit for the composition of this page.  Her templates are so pretty!

I'm not done yet!  I love the vintage feel to this newest kit from Irene Alexeeva!  These are my favorite "family" photos I have of us at the moment, taken last October.  We're due for more, but it's difficult when I'm always behind the camera...I need a remote!

I also used one of these great Second Shot 2 Templates from Little Green Frog Designs.

And if you're quick...since I've posted this so late in the day...you can save 29% off on all these new releases! Don't worry...they're still 20% off for the rest of the week if you miss the Leap Year sale.

Challenges at Scrap Orchard

A little late for this post...but not too late to join in!  I'm hosting two challenges this month at Scrap Orchard.  First, What The Font?  I love font challenges because I am a font addict!  You can pick up this cute font on WM Squared blog for free.

And now...for the photos of Ava's black eye.  A couple weeks ago she was playing on the playground at school.  I guess she was in the sandbox and reached for something outside the sandbox and fell (face first) into the side of the wooden sandbox.  I got a phone call from her teacher saying she was pretty scared and wanted her mommy.  Well, I kind of just figured it was just one of those mommy moments when she needed me and wanted to be comforted.  I wasn't really prepared for what I saw once I got there.  I quickly realized I needed to take her to the emergency room!  Of course, the one day I absolutely need it...I ran out of the house without it...I didn't have my phone!  So I used the phone at the school to call my mother to have her meet us at the ER so she could take Aiden and Bella and I could focus all my attention on Ava.  We ran home really quickly to grab a few comforts for Ava...she wanted her fluffy blanket and her pillow pet, and I grabbed my phone.  Four hours later...we were on our way...no major injuries, CAT scan was clean...just a really ugly bruise and some scrapes.  I'm happy to say that it is almost completely healed now!  We prayed for her eye every day...and Ava goes around telling everyone that Jesus healed her eye.  What a testimony for a 5yr old to give!

This layout features this lovely kit from Designs by Kat.
Come join me in the forums HERE and play along with the "What the Font?" Challenge at SO!

I'm also hosting the Half and Half Challenge.  This was really fun to do...I picked these two layouts as my inspiration...and turned it into one page!

I just LOVE this kit collection from Dream Big Designs!  It fit my little girls perfectly!
Of course there is a story attached to that layout...not sure if you can read the journaling.  It reads:

My little princesses were even princesses camping...they took their dresses camping!  Well, in all fairness, we bought them at the thrift store while we were waiting for the tires and breaks to be fixed on the van.  But almost as soon as the tent was up, my girls went straight for the princess dresses.  We were at family camp with our church and everyone got a kick out of the royalty prancing around the campground.

It's these times that make life with kids so fun....so priceless!

Template Challenge @ Scrap Orchard

I'm hosting Liz's Template Challenge at Scrap Orchard this month!  I love hosting template challenges because I am a total template junkie! Come join in the fun here in the forums!

Here's the template we are working with...

And my page I scrapped using the template and the January Mega @ ScrapOrchard.

I have been editing photos like crazy and actually printed some!  GASP!  They turned out amazing and I am so excited to have them.  I don't know why it took me so long to print them!  I'll share some of those later...but here is one of my favorites.

Aren't they precious!  I just love these girls!  I love my boy too, but he doesn't really let me take his picture anymore.  Until next time!  God bless!

Captivated Visions New Release & a freebie!

Hey all!  Well, I'm happy to report that I got a full night's sleep!  A rare thing these days!  I want to share with you a new release from Captivated Visions at Scrap Orchard called "A Way of Life".

I really felt inspired by this kit, as the WORD that God has given me this entire year has been Philipians 4:6-7:

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Here is a tiny freebie....the wordart from my page...

Just click the image to download.  Let me know if you like it!

Short & Sweet

You ever have one of those days where you HAVE to have a coffee?  Well, that happened to me yesterday because I was out in Canby where my favorite coffee shop is...The Human Bean.  I just cannot resist their Coconut Almond Mocha!!  It is sooooooo good!  But boy did I regret it last night when I couldn't sleep a wink....I was up ALL night.  I guess I should have had a decaf, but for some reason this is a lesson I seem to forget and once in a great while break my rule and have to pay for it dearly with lack of sleep!

So...long story short...I'm going to post and run.  I want to share with you the latest kit from Irene Alexeeva, Where The Heart Is.

Here is my page...just LOVE these kiddos!

I also used a template from this great collab from Fiddle Dee Dee Designs & Little Green Frog Designs.
That's all for now...I'm off to catch some zzz's!  I will bring you that freebie I promised tomorrow!

Busy New Year and a Freebie Template

The beginning of the year is always so busy for our family.  It starts with Christmas...and kind of flows on through February.  Christmas is barely over and then we've got the girls birthday!  And then a month later is Aiden's.  I will post and share some pics from their bday party a bit later when I get my computer issues sorted out and can upload them.

I am hosting the Member Spotlight Challenge over at Scrap Orchard this month!  I made a free template based on a layout by my4boys.  Be sure to hop over to the forums, HERE and download this template!  It will only be available through the end of January.

Here is the layout I created from it.  I was so inspired by MLE Card's new pink bundle at Scrap Orchard.  The girls nursery was themed Pink Poodles in Paris....and their first Halloween Costumes were poodles.  I smiled the WHOLE time I was scrapping this.  I can't believe my babies are 5!

This is the beautiful new collection I used....

I have to admit, the holidays and birthdays have zapped my creative energy.  Not to mention this divorce thing hanging over my head.  I just had a court date last monday, which really didn't get us anywhere.  Just more emotional turmoil....  Gotta find my big girl panties and carry on!

We Decked the Halls

Well, anyone that knows me...or my girls knows that when we get decked up....we go ALL out!  I have to say this was one of the easiest years to get Christmas photos, probably because the girls want to be beauty pageant contestants.  Again...anyone that knows me...knows that I would make the WORST pageant mom ever, lol!  But the girls love to get dressed up and decked out!  Here is the first of many pages, I'm sure...with the 2011 Christmas photo shoot.

And the credit goes to....

Well, already I've fallen behind in posting on my blog!  But I still want to share with you who created the fabulous templates that helped me with the new design.  It made it so simple to do...she even includes a photo tutorial to help you install after you've customized your design!  I HIGHLY recommend them.  Yes...I am on the creative team at Scrap Orchard, but this wasn't an assignment, it was completely voluntary!  Thank you, Liz for helping me keep LAST years new year resolution....even if it's the last day of the year!  You can find Liz's templates here:
