Happy Leap Day!

Happy Leap Day! I've got two layouts to share with you today...both of which feature my beautiful kids.  These are some of my favorite photos...so I'm particularly fond of these new pages!

I'm not done yet!  I love the vintage feel to this newest kit from Irene Alexeeva!  These are my favorite "family" photos I have of us at the moment, taken last October.  We're due for more, but it's difficult when I'm always behind the camera...I need a remote!

Challenges at Scrap Orchard

A little late for this post...but not too late to join in!  I'm hosting two challenges this month at Scrap Orchard.  First, What The Font?  I love font challenges because I am a font addict!  You can pick up this cute font on WM Squared blog for free.

 

And now...for the photos of Ava's black eye.  A couple weeks ago she was playing on the playground at school.  I guess she was in the sandbox and reached for something outside the sandbox and fell (face first) into the side of the wooden sandbox.  I got a phone call from her teacher saying she was pretty scared and wanted her mommy.  Well, I kind of just figured it was just one of those mommy moments when she needed me and wanted to be comforted.  I wasn't really prepared for what I saw once I got there.  I quickly realized I needed to take her to the emergency room!  Of course, the one day I absolutely need it...I ran out of the house without it...I didn't have my phone!  So I used the phone at the school to call my mother to have her meet us at the ER so she could take Aiden and Bella and I could focus all my attention on Ava.  We ran home really quickly to grab a few comforts for Ava...she wanted her fluffy blanket and her pillow pet, and I grabbed my phone.  Four hours later...we were on our way...no major injuries, CAT scan was clean...just a really ugly bruise and some scrapes.  I'm happy to say that it is almost completely healed now!  We prayed for her eye every day...and Ava goes around telling everyone that Jesus healed her eye.  What a testimony for a 5yr old to give!

I just LOVE this kit collection from Dream Big Designs!  It fit my little girls perfectly!

 

Of course there is a story attached to that layout...not sure if you can read the journaling.  It reads:

My little princesses were even princesses camping...they took their dresses camping!  Well, in all fairness, we bought them at the thrift store while we were waiting for the tires and breaks to be fixed on the van.  But almost as soon as the tent was up, my girls went straight for the princess dresses.  We were at family camp with our church and everyone got a kick out of the royalty prancing around the campground.

Love this new collab by The Hidden Heart & Lauren Reid!  The bright colors immediately reminded me of this photoshoot with the girls last spring!

A couple layouts to share

Well, that really terrible cold/flu I mentioned in my last post?  Turned into pneumonia!  So I have been very sick...and very behind posting layouts and such!  I finally got a chance to scrap with those pretty ballerina photos I took.  I just love the background photo...Ava is crazy about flowers and it's cool to see her affection for them as she admires the flower she's picked.

This layout features a beautiful kit by Irene Alexeeva.

A little catch up....

It's been a busy few weeks....so here's a bit of catch up.

First, a layout featuring Boutique Cute Doll Designs from After Five.

My life is really centered around my kids....they have been my focus...my love.

Here is the collab kit I used.

And these templates from one of my favorite template designers, Busy Bee Designs.

I'm slow posting these....so they've been released now in their stores for a while.  Renan came out with a new collection last Friday....so versatile!  He even included templates...so I HAD to use one!  I've needed to scrap Aiden's soccer photos for a while now.  They aren't like wine and get better with age...I don't know what is up with me that I have to sit on photos for so long before I scrap them!  Queen of Procrastination, I guess!  He's now playing Basketball...which is so much more enjoyable for me.  I'm even helping coach the team, if you can believe that!  I know most of you view me as a diva-fashionista-type...but back in the day I could really handle a basketball!  lol!  I had to make a choice my sophmore year between basketball and music because it's pretty impossible to play the flute with fingersplints on!   Well...be on the lookout for basketball layouts soon....I will try not to wait until he's playing yet another sport before scrapping them!
